The Eumig company was founded in 1919 in
Vienna, Austria and is widely known for its productuion of radios and high
quality movie cameras and film projectors. The production facilities in
Vienna was complete detroyed by an airraid in 1945, but most of the
machinery had already been moved to a second plant in Micheldorf. In 1951
Eumig for the first time introduced the 6 x 6 film camera Eumigetta I, which
was subsequently followed by the Eumigetta II in 1953. Production of the
Eumigetta's seized in 1954, and no film cameras was ever to be manufactured
by the Eumig Company again. The Eumigetta's are very simple medium format
cameras, but if you are in doubt whether they are capable of producing
stunning pictures, please visit Andreas Wolkerstorfer

I don't know if it's just a myth, but
somebody told me, that the "Eumigetta project" initially was launched in
order to be able to offer work for war veterans that had been physically
disabled during the 2. world war, but who in spite of these disabilities
were capable of carrying out various limited and/or specialized work
processes. Oh well, if it's just a myth, it's a beautiful one....
