  Voigtländer Vito II (1951 -1955) VF
Serial no.: n/a
Format:
  24 x 36 on 35 mm film (135)
Optics:

Color-Skopar 1:3,5  50mm
Shutter:  Compur Rapid B + 1 sec. => 1/500 sec.

The original Vito II are in my opinion a very beautifully designed little folder. There are something truly aesthetic about its symmetry with the wide wind and rewind knobs, the simple smooth top cover with the embossed logos and the very visible framecounter window. Even the shape of the struts seem to have been designed with a wonderful eye for beautiful curved lines. The shutter release button are incorporated in the folding front cover, and works just fine, and the two square release buttons for the strut are better than seen on most other folders. Performance wise the Vito II are right up there with the best with the fast compur Rapid shutter and the Color-Skopar lens. Please also note the curved and rounded front cover. This Vito are a genuine classic, and i'm sure you'll love it just as much as I do. The only thing that I really miss, is an accessory shoe for an add-on rangefinder..

  Voigtländer Vito II a (1955 - 1957) VF
Serial no.: n/a
Format:
  24 x 36 on 35 mm film (135)
Optics:

Color-Skopar 1:3,5  50mm
Shutter:  Prontor SVS B +  1 sec. => 1/300 sec. + selftimer
Misc.: Rapid wind lever

The basic body of the Vito IIa are basically the same as the Vito II. However the top cover are completely different. The added rapid wind lever are the very characteristic Voigtländer design with a thin lever that moves in a narrow slot that cuts right through 1/5 of the top cover. The top cover are very sleek looking, and has got the wonderful retracted rewind knob that pops up by pressing a small button on the left side of the cover. The round button on the back are the manual resetting button for the frame counter. In comparison with the Vito II above, the IIa lacks the Compur Rapid shutter with its faster speeds. Allthough the Vito IIa are a really nice folder, I still tend to use the Vito II more often.

  Voigtländer Vito B (1954) VF
Serial no.: n/a
Format:
  24 x 36 on 35 mm film (135)
Optics:

Color-Skopar 1:3,5  50mm
Shutter:  Pronto B + 1/25 sec. => 1/200 sec. + selftimer
Misc.: Rapid wind lever

The Vito B are a very popular viewfinder, among both collectors and users alike. It care in 2 versions, the first one (as shown above) had a small simple viewfinder and was manufactured from 1954 to 1956, and the second version with a 1:1 viewfinder with brightline and higher top cover that were manufactured from 1957 to 1960. As you can see from the photo above a part of the bottom plate folds open  for easy film loading, and at the same time it unlocks and locks the hinged back cover. This feature are also seen on all the Vitomatics, and both feels and works very well. If you would want one of these Vito B's, you should go for a version with the Prontor SVS shutter and the faster 2,8 Color-Skopar lens which makes the Vito B more versatile than the version shown here. Note the small framecounter window on the front just above the lens. The manual reset-wheel are situated just below the lens base.
