  Voigtländer Vito CD (1961-1966) VF
Serial no.: 6451699
Format:
  24 x 36 on 35 mm film (135)
Optics:
 Lanthar 1:2,8  50mm
Shutter:  Prontor 250 S  B + 1/30 sec. => 1/250 sec. + selftimer
Misc.: Rapid wind lever, Uncoupled Bewi lightmeter,

The Vito CD has got the same nice camera body other models, but offers no rangefinder or a coupled lightmeter. The lightmeter are a Bewi match needle type with external read-out in EV-values. You should always be very careful with the Bewi lightmeters, and test them thoroughly before buying a camera, regardless of camera make. Very often they don't work, or are very unreliable, and generally they should be avoided these days. The Prontor shutter has go no slow speed settings below 1/30 sec. For use, I would recommend one of the other Vito models below rather than this Vito CD.

CL (1960 - 1966) VF
Serial no.: See above
Format:
  24 x 36 on 35 mm film (135)
Optics:
 See above
Shutter:  Pronto LK B + 1/15 sec. => 1/500 sec.
Misc.: Rapid wind lever,  Coupled lightmeter, match needle type

If you are familiar with scale-focusing, the Vito CL are a nice low cost shooter, that offers the basics. Of course you should choose the 4 element Color-Skopar lens in stead of the 3 element Lanthar if possible. The lightmeter match-needle window are clear and large enough for easy read-out. As you can see on the models on the photo above, there can be slight differences in the design. The one on the far left (early model) has got a black plastic frame around the viewfinder and lightmeter whereas the other 2 has got a chrome metal frame.

Misc.: Rapid wind lever, Coupled rangefinder, coupled lightmeter, match needle type

The photos above shows 2 different versions of the Vito CLR. The version with serial no. 5666327 are the commonly found version, and serial no.  6399341 are the version often referred to as the "De Luxe" version because it reflects the lightmeter match-needle into the viewfinder. It is easily identified by the lightmeter prism read-out window on the top cover, and the slightly taller top cover. The CLR are a pleasure to use, the coupled rangefinder are clearly reflected in the brightline viewfinder and allthough it hasn't got any slower speed settings than 1/15 sec (and "B") it very useable and versatile and can easily be found at very reasonable prices. Finally I would gladly recommend the Vito CLR to any beginner and newcomer.

  Voigtländer Vito BL (1956 - 1958) VF
Serial no.: 4817173
Format:
  24 x 36 on 35 mm film (135)
Optics:
 Color Skopar 1:2,8  50mm
Shutter:  Prontor SVS B + 1 sec. => 1/300 sec. + selftimer
Misc.: Rapid wind lever, Uncoupled Bewi lightmeter EV type

The Vito BL are an ealy transition model, that actually were a great commercial success. The camerabody itself are basically a Vito B, but an entirely new topcover has been added with a big viewfinder and a Bewi lightmeter. Early versions of the BL had a smaller simple viewfinder fixed by two small screws on the front. You'll probably recognize the manual reset framecounter from the Vito B. Also you can say, that the Vito BL were the predecsesor to the Vitomatic series, and if you've got the choice you should certainly choose a Vitomatic in stead. Let me be honest and say, that I don't like the Vito BL very much, most of all because of the annoying,  crappy and unreliable Bewi Automat lightmeter.
